Charity at Beechwood
As part of their life at school, Beechwood pupils, from our youngest in Woodlands Nursery to our Top Formers, get involved in charity fundraising. They understand how important it is to show care and concern for others, to show respect for others and the environment around us, and develop personal responsibility so that they may become valuable members of the community.
We are proud that many of the fundraising initiatives come from our pupils, and they often independently arrange charity events themselves.
Beechwood is proud to have supported a number of national and local charities; in particular, we have a long standing relationship with Keech Hospice Care, and have raised more than £250,000 in the last 20 years to support this fantastic local charity.
Locally, we have also been a major supporter of St Leonard’s Church in Flamstead as they raise funds to replace the church roof, raising £10,000 for this worthy local cause.
In recent years, the School has worked closely with Happy Days UK and Herts Welcomes Refugees, raising funds through a variety of different events, competitions and donations, as well as annual support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Comic Relief and other national charities.
